About the community
African Women in Artificial Intelligence( AWAI) non profit organization founded to promote knowledge sharing within the African community of women in Artificial Intelligence(AI) and serve as a bridge between AI enthusiasts and the business world. It’s a place to share ideas, collaborate and discuss initiatives aimed at increasing the presence of women in the field of Artificial Intelligence. It's also an open forum to bring together industry professionals and researchers in Africa to discuss recent and future developments.
Our Vision: an Africa where every girl and woman has equal access to opportunities in Artificial Intelligence. In a rapidly changing world, AI has an important impact on our daily lives. We believe that African girls and women have a lot to contribute in this area. By supporting them we make Africa a center of innovation and creativity.

Mentorship Program
The Mentorship Program is for mentees who want to gain experience and knowledge within AI. We aim to motivate young girls.
AI Workshops
Here we dive into notebooks with concrete coding examples, or a more thorough walkthrough of a recent project. These sessions are meant to be interactive and more relaxed, and have the purpose to increase our technical skills and build synergies from working together.
